Jackson County Information Technology Department
Our Mission:
To be a leader in Information Technology and to maintain and support information systems in Jackson County in a timely, cost effective manner.
Jackson County currently operates a Microsoft Windows network, which supports approximately 255 workstations, laptops, IOS devices and multiple servers. County network systems also include AS400 and UNIX Servers. These systems combined support approximately 254 county employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Purchasing all technology hardware, software, etc.
•Support approximately 80 county-wide and department software programs.
•Support approximately 80 county-wide and department software programs.
•Network design, implementation and troubleshooting.
•Installation and maintenance of county servers, workstation computers, printers and other peripherals.
•County-wide law enforcement system support and maintenance.
•Setup and support of the Exchange email system, Internet web services, firewall security, anti-virus system, department-specific application programs, and business system analysis.
•The network supports 10/100 Ethernet cat 5E.

The Information Technology staff is responsible for the two-building courthouse/sheriff's area, along with remote sites at the Forestry/Parks Department, UW Extension Department, Animal Shelter, Human Services Department and Highway Department and Shop.
