OBJECTIVE
The Sheriff’s Office Policy and Procedure Manual is to establish a legal, ethical, and operational framework that ensures professional service, public safety, and accountability. It serves as a comprehensive guide for personnel to uphold constitutional rights, enforce laws, and manage resources efficiently, while protecting the agency from civil liability. Not all the Policy and Procedures will be published on the website. The Policy and Procedures that will be published are generally designed for public transparency regarding conduct and accountability, such as duty to intervene and duty to report noncompliant use of force. The Sheriff's Office will not publish policies that reveal tactical, sensitive, or security-related information, such as detailed emergency response techniques, undercover operations, or jail security measures, as these are exempt from public records laws.
