FoodShare

FoodShare Program

FoodShare helps low-income people buy food. FoodShare benefits can be used to buy bread, cereal, fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products, and seeds to grow food. FoodShare benefits cannot be used to buy pet food, soaps, paper products, household supplies, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, vitamins, or medicine.

All household income is used to determine eligibility for FoodShare. Some expenses can be used as a deduction such as childcare costs, and child support obligations. The amount of FoodShare benefits is based on the number of people in your household and your total monthly income.

Choose foods that promote a healthy life style. Limit fat, sugar, and salt. Be physically active for at least 30 minutes most days of the week.
