Intoxicated Driver Program Assessment Driver’s Safety Plan
The intoxicated driver program assessment and driver’s
safety plan is for people to meet with an alcohol and drug abuse counselor to
assess the nature of use of alcohol and/or drugs and to develop a driver’s
safety plan that will include education or treatment. The driver’s safety plan must be completed within on one year of
the intoxicated driver program assessment to meet the Department of
Transportation requirements. The cost
of the intoxicated driver program assessment and driver’s safety plan are the
legal responsibility of the individual participating in the assessment and
plan.
Within 72 hours of the court appearance, the individual must
contact the intoxicated driver program assessment office to schedule the
assessment appointment. The assessment
fee must be paid in full at the time the assessment is scheduled.
There are two ways to schedule the assessment appointment
and to pay the fee:
1. Pay by check or money order at the West Central
Behavioral Health office.
2.
Call 1-866-805-0304 and pay by Master Card or Visa.
A copy of the court order for the assessment must be brought
to the first appointment. A copy may be
obtained from the Clerk of Court at 715-284-0209. If the assessment appointment is missed, additional fees may be
charged.
There will be instructions and choices of where the required
driver’s safety plan can be completed.
If treatment is required, a treatment provider may be chosen that is
included in the individual’s insurance plan.
If insurance is not available and the individual is not eligible for
Medical Assistance, the individual may be eligible for treatment on a sliding
scale fee through the county of residence.
