Snowmobile Trails
Jackson County is host to over 350 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. Trails are varied with over 150 miles of trail, which wind through State and County Forest lands, and 200 miles located in Wisconsin’s beautiful bluff country.

CURRENT CONDITIONS

Effective today, all snowmobile trails in Jackson County are closed. ATV trails will remain open on a day to day basis. They may close if significant thawing occurs.

ENJOYING THE TRAILS NEAR BLACK RIVER FALLS

 

 Riders will find all the amenities along the trail including food, fuel and lodging. For further information please call the Black River Chamber of Commerce at (800) 404-4008.

 Maps of the trail are located at many vendors in the area for a nominal fee.

JACKSON COUNTY SNOWMOBILE PATROL

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department routinely patrols the public trails in Jackson County using two Artic Cat F5 snowmobiles. Trails are patrolled primarily on weekends and holidays.

The three most common violations are:

  1. Illegal operation on roadway/highway

  2. Failure to possess valid safety certificate

  3. Registration violations

Please be sure to read your rule booklet before operating your snowmobile.

DON'T DRINK AND RIDE

Alcohol is involved with 80% of all snowmobile related fatalities.
