Fishing
Jackson County
features lakes and streams to accommodate a variety of fishing all year round.
The Black River is well known for it’s muskellunge, small mouth bass, walleye and
catfishing opportunities. Excellent summer and winter fishing can be found in
Lake Arbutus for panfish and walleye.
Many private cranberry flowages
consistently produce huge largemouth bass and panfish. Anglers are advised to
contact the owners of the flowages for further information on access.
If trout fishing
is your pleasure, the county has many class I trout streams that provide feisty
brook, rainbow and brown trout
